It's been decided to postpone a follow-up meeting for November.
We'll see what December brings. We may be able to make our phone calls and get something wrapped up without a meeting.
Isn't the internet a wonderful thing? We can email and not even talk to each other to get 'er done!
We would still like to hear from you, Classmates, about what you'd like to have at the reunion. Throw me some ideas and we'll see what we come up with. It doesn't take very long to write an email and you can do it on your own time. I will see it and bring it up to the committee. We want to hear from you if we have not yet.

November 12th Meeting
Well, our meeting was kind of slim on members last night. Unfortunately, several folks were out of town on business trips and a couple had last minute emergencies which are things that can't be helped. Kathy and I had a good time catching up. We will need to have a meeting sometime this month.
Let me know what works so we can get it on the calendar.

Mr. Fleming
I went to some bazaars yesterday and ran into Mr. Fleming, the former ceramics teacher from our days there. It was so fun to catch up with him. He's retired now, but working as a sub and teaching pottery and ceramics lessons in his home. If you are interested in lessons let me know. I have his business card and can pass on the into. to you. You might have a kid that is interested.
I've also heard from Mr. Keene and Mr. Sauer recently. They are doing good. As most of you know, this is the part of our reunions that I enjoy the most, catching up with former classmates, teachers and making new friends. I love to hear what everyone is doing now and where you're living. So get in contact with me and we can catch up!

Next Meeting is.....
at Brutzman's store on November 12th, @ 7:00pm.
Let me know if you need directions.
I sent out an email to the classmates that I have emails for. I've also posted on Classmates.com. If you're already registered on there, you received an email announcing the reunion.
If you know of any classmates that are not on my email listing or on classmates.com, please let them know to get a hold of us so we can include them in all the plans.
We're just in the planning stages, so if you have any thoughts or ideas, tell us. We won't know what you all want to do if you don't let us know.

Our 1st Meeting, October 8th
We've set a date for the 1st Reunion Meeting on October 8th at 7:00pm. It will be at the McDonald's meeting room off of Clearwater Ave, Kennewick.
Meetings will be on the 2nd Wednesday of every month.
If you have any ideas or contact information for missing classmates, either contact me or another committee member with the information. After the 1st meeting we'll have a better idea of the committee members for our 30th Reunion. I'll probably send out an email with contact information to those on my master list.
We hope to see you local classmates there!

30 Year Reunion in 2009
Next year is our 30 year reunion. I know, it just doesn't seem possible already.
A date has not been set yet, but we are talking about some possible dates. If anyone has some input on the reunion, please don't hesitate to speak up or write one of us. You can even post a comment on here.

Class of 1978 Reunion Invites Us Too...
Since many of us were friends with classmates from the class of 1978, they would like us to join them at their reunion this summer. It sounds like fun to me!
Here is their website link:
http://www.ksd.org:80/kamiakin/alumni/1978.htm
Hello Everyone,
We are 42 days away from a great get together! The committee thanks those of you who have responded and or forwarded information to others, we really appreciate the help. Unfortunately we have not heard from many of you and are still trying to locate a lot of classmates. It is not too late, but we really need your registration forms and or info/pictures turned in now. (Some of you have sent in just the registration form, please get the rest in soon so we can include and keep working on.)
If you don't know if you will be able to join us, we still would like to include your information/picture in the Memory CD; also the group is still in need of more pictures of any kind from kindergarten/grade school up of you or any of our classmates, teachers/coaches...etc. Please dig them up and send in.
If you know you can not make it, please send me a reply back telling me that and I will update our RSVP list. (you may still get reminder emails unless you ask me to remove you from dist list)
I have attached the registration form for those that may need it. Also we would like to extend an invitation to other classes "77" or "79" or "??" to our Saturday night event at Anthony's - if you know someone that may be interested in joining in with our group, please forward the registration form and have them write in their name and class then forward with $$ ....etc. Love to have them.
Note: The Friday Wine Tour has 21 confirmed folks, leaving 26 spots left (see list below). Sign up now as we would like to fill the bus.
Saturday Golf has 5 sign ups and the tour option is still a maybe with only one sign up so far.
I will send out a separate list in the near future of the folks we have heard from, in the mean time keep spreading the word and encourage people to attend, it will be fun!
Thanks - LA
Wine Tour Confirms: Alan Morris, Belinda Silvey, Cheryl McKinnon Conway, Cyndi Foraker Schwartz, Eileen Bailey Marchan, Fred Michel, Helen Abernathy, Jennifer Cook Roach, Kim Lampson Knight, Kristie Trapp Didier, Laurie Gabriel Brady, Laurie Thompson, Lee Ann Taylor Jennings, Lynda Senger, Pattie Johnson Lilly, Traci Foley Brockman.

It's Much Cooler Now
It cooled right back down again. I don't think it's been over 70 all week. We've had some rain and lots of wind (as usual). Normally, it's very hot for graduation and it wasn't this year. I'm sure a lot of you are thankful that you didn't have to sweat to death during those ceremonies and parties.
Well, my brother is doing better. He is scheduled for a biopsy on one of the 2 spots in his brain on Thursday. Please keep him in your thoughts for a good report.
I've only heard from 3 or 4 of you about contact information or reunion stuff. Where is everyone? I know that we are all having a hard time thinking about our 30 year reunion and where did the time go, but we need to get your input.
What do you all want to do this time?
Who can help out? Let me know if you can help locate people or make arrangements.
Do we want a memory book or something like that?
Let us know what you are good at. We will need help during the next year. Even if you are not local, we can get you contact information and you can do some emails or phone calls.
Let's make this the best reunion ever!

Heatwave!
Ok, is it this hot where you are?
It got up to 93 yesterday and today it's supposed to get up to 100!
The Yakima River is expected to flood by Wednesday and everyone is gritting their teeth, waiting for that one.
So, what's the temperature where you are?
Inquiring minds want to know.

Reunion Thinking...
I know that some of you are starting to think about the reunion next year.
We will need ideas, help and meetings to get going.
I'll try to send you an email to the classmates to start the ball rolling.
Where do we want to have it?
What kind of dinner do we want to have?
Golf, picnic, get to know you night?
Tell us what you want to do or if you can help out.
Email me through the site here Jodi or leave a comment.

What's New?
It's April and the weatherman is predicting snow tonight! What's with that? Do any of you remember having snow at the end of April? If you do, you've got a better memory than me. I remember having a little snow on April 1st one year. I only remember it because it was April Fool's Day. I don't remember the year though.
If anyone has moved or changed email addresses, please start getting those to me so we can keep you informed about the reunion next year. Yes, it's the big
3-0 coming up in 2009. I've had a couple people check in with me on Classmates.com this past week.
I've had a rough week. My brother (Kamiakin Class of 1973) was flown to Sacred Heart in Spokane last week. He had bleeding in the brain. They are still unsure of what caused it, but he is doing better. He was moved out of ICU on Monday and will have to go to a rehab. center soon for work with his left side and to get his strength back.
Start getting into reunion mode and get those updates! We need all the help we can get to locate everyone.

Who Misses the Tri-Cities?
This was yesterday, Sunday January 27th. We got 7-8 inches of snow. It came down all day long! It's been a while since we've gotten this much in one day.
Yes, that's my new car above. My Montero (below) died a couple of months ago. I bought a Toyota Camry. The Montero will sit for a while until it warms up and we can have someone work on it. Any mechanics out there? It has a blown head gasket for sure, maybe more. The body is in great shape and I hate to get rid of it, but it may need a new/rebuilt motor.
It's a snow day here for the school district. I work for Head Start and the boss called me last night and said we're closed too. A 3 day weekend for me!

Yes, We Lost
Well, I haven't had a lot of spare time to post anything lately.
We did lose the game against Southridge. It was not a good game at all.
Southridge and Kennewick went on to the next round and both lost. So, there will be no Kennewick schools in the finals. It really would have been a good game to see 2 of them in the finals, I think.
I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving this week! Ours was nice.
I've been very busy trying to keep up with my crochet orders. It's a very hectic time right now, but I love it!
Only 1 1/2 years until the next reunion, Folks! Are you all thinking about what you'd like to do? Well, put on your thinking caps and let the committee know what sounds good. You can always email me directly here with your ideas. Then I can store them up for our 1st meeting sometime next year.

Still Winning!
Sorry I haven't posted in a while. I've been super busy with my crocheting and working 40 hours a week is almost doing me in. It's been a long time since I've done that. I seem to have a whole lot more going on now than I did a couple of years ago.
All of the Braves football teams were undefeated in regular season. The varsity team is in the playoffs. We are the #1 seed! WooHoo!
We played Hanford today and won 45-10. We will play Southridge next Saturday. It was a pretty warm day for the game, over 60 degrees and a light breeze was blowing.
If you want to see how any of the other teams are doing you can go to the Tri-City Herald website here: Sports
If any of you would like to post a comment, please do. I love to hear from everyone!
Have a great week!

Kamiakin 16, Walla Walla 14 WHEW! That was..
a tough game for the players and us folks in the stands! It was a wild game.
We did win, but it was a nail biter! You might have to get the lowdown from the Tri-City Herald. There was a lot to report.
I think there was an ankle injury, a torn MCL and a broken collarbone on 3 of our players.
This week is West Valley in Yakima.

They Came, They Scored, WE WON!
Well, the Kennewick game was interesting to say the least. Our regular quarterback is out from a broken ankle from the game before. The ref's were really one-sided (to Kennewick that is). It was unbelievable what some of the calls were.
Anyway, the score was KaHS 37, KeHS 18 and we won. We are still ranked #2 in the state! Isn't that exciting? I think it is since my boys go there too.
The Freshman played on Thursday night and won 49-12.
49 seems to be their number. I think that's 3 games in a row now with 49.
The booster club is selling my crochet stuff and it's really fun to see people in the stands wearing it.
Homecoming is this weekend. The freshman play Walla Walla Thursday night and the varsity plays Friday night. This is the last home game, until the playoffs start. There are 2 more away games left. I wish I had some input from someone on the JV games. They play on Mondays and I don't hear how they do each week. I think they are undefeated also, but I don't know for sure.
I hear that the volleyball team is doing well too. I'll see if I can find out some better info. and let you all know. Although, our resident sports editor probably knows all those stats off the top of his head. (Right, Cous?)
You all have a wonderful week and I'll write when I can!

KaHS 35, Sunnyside 0
Another shutout for the varsity team! WooHoo!!
What a year we're having.
The freshman also won their game, 49-12.
The big game is this Friday against Kennewick. They could be a tough one, we'll see.
I'll let you all know how it goes.
Is there anything else you all might be interested in hearing about with the school? If so, just let me know and I'll see what I can do. I've been pretty busy, but could post scores for other sports possibly.

4 IN A ROW
Kamiakin played Southridge last week. For those of you that are out of the loop, Southridge is the newest high school in Kennewick, a rival of ours now.
The score at the half was 7-0, KaHS was ahead. They played us really tough and almost scored until we made an interception right before the half. That was on the goal line! The game ended with KaHS 21, SHS 0!
4 shutouts in a row now! How cool is that?
The freshman also had a shutout of 49-0.
We play Sunnyside this week and Thursday we are heading there to watch Andy play in the freshman game. The varsity plays on Friday night.

Yep....... ANOTHER SHUTOUT 38-0
We played Hanford yesterday and it was 38-0.
3 games, 3 shutouts
Now what team will score on us first is the question?
The freshman also won 40-0.
It was a good day for our football teams!
Stay tuned, we play Southridge this week.
